Hist.Urban unites 19 project partners from 9 Central and East European countries: Municipalities, research institutes, private companies and semi public organisations (e.g. Chamber of Commerce & Industry). They come from »old«, »new« and »future« EU member states, bringing in their different backgrounds and experience in the revitalisation of historical towns.

All participating towns feature cultural heritage buildings, many of them belonging to the national cultural patrimony. 6 participating towns belong to the UNESCO world heritage. The towns vary in size and population
