Salzburg Research is a non-profit research organisation of the State of Salzburg with around 60 employees. They conduct applied research in the area of information and communication technologies (ICT).

Salzburg is an important example of a well preserved European ecclesiastical city-state and belongs to the UNESCO World Heritage Status since 1996.

Within Hist.Urban Salzburg Research Ltd. will

  • identify requirements of historical cities to foster cultural tourism;
  • analyse the scope of information and communication technologies (ICT) applications to promote cultural tourism;
  • develop a methodological template for the identification and presentation of ICT Good Practice Cases;
  • develop and present ICT Good Practice Cases in the promotion of cultural tourism as a leg work for the base-line study;
  • develop Good Practice Guidelines "Good Practice in ICT Applications for the Promotion of Cultural Tourism in Historical Cities";
  • develop a list of ICT Recommendations »Do's and Don't's«.
